These are
the last two formula ones in this scale made by Polistil that I own. I have nothing
to add to what I already said in the previous entries dedicated to them,
except, that these are a couple of years older that the rest. You can compare
the style of the cars, most notably the air intake over the cockpit, which is
only present in these two formulas.
There is something curious about that Brabham. The model represents the car that took part in the 1974 and 1975 seasons, that’s the BT 44, but it has the wrong colour! The real car was white. The colour and starting number corresponds to the model that participated in the 1978 season, a much more modern car, the BT 46. The cast of the car was already done and after Niki Lauda changed from Ferrari to Brabham (after winning the 1977 championships), it was very interesting to release a Brabham model carrying number 1.

To conclude
this article (and the series) I made this picture with all the cars presented
in the above mentioned entries. If you want to know more about the other
models, or see some more pictures, just click in the “politoys-polistil” label
below the facts and figures.
The first one is the Shadow DN4 (RJ6), which is somehow curious, since there is no DN4... the DN3 model from 1974/75 was followed by the DN5 (1975/76/77), which is the car that is actually represented here. RN 17 belonged to pilot Jean Pierre Jarier, which finished the 1976 championships in the 22nd place with no points. His best position was 7th in the United States Grand Prix West.
The second one is the Ligier Matra JS5 (RJ59) from 1976. That year, Ligier ran only with one car, RN 26 and pilot Jacques Laffite. The French pilot ended the season in 5th position with 20 points. Laffite reached position 2 in the Autrian GP and 3 in the Italian GP and Belgian GP.

Hi there, got a question on the Ferrari 312, I have a copy in 1/45 scale and there is no Polistil on the base but 'Made in Hong Kong' and nr.8132. Any chance you have an idea who could be the maker of this?
ReplyDeleteThanks,
